and build on each child's unique abilities and interest it's the natural learning process we emphasize playful fun activities that meet the child's developmental needs without losing the interest of the child time serves transitional kindergarten through 8th grade transitional kindergarten 40K its resistance return five between September 1st and December 2nd of the school year what are some of the benefits of a t-case school or a span school as band School allows for long-term family involvement that means your child would be enrolled with the from 9 to 10 years possibly it also provides mentoring opportunities for our older students can be pure models and act as role models for our younger by being reading buddies and kindergarten such as you see in the picture here anna co-teaching model general education and special education teachers are Partners in teaching planning and assessment of all the students list approach brings a variety of strengths to the classroom teams meet in advance of teaching to plan strategies to address the needs of each individual student in the classroom this team also includes related service provider by embedding services in the general education class related service staff such as occupational therapist physical therapist adaptive physical education teachers speech and language pathologist provide targeted support to students with disabilities that benefit all these experts train the teachers and staff to implement evidence-based strategies that benefit all students in this way the staff who work with children most often can Implement specialized interventions on an ongoing basis it is our goal to educate the whole child so we take a holistic approach which means that every student receives instruction each week from credentialed art instructors music instructor cheat codes time in the library with the librarian disengage Hands-On instruction for all children is part of their regular schedule and not considered as special as some others have designated due to budget constraints time is an open enrollment tuition free public school with no specific requirements for admission as an independent charter school in are educated together in the same question when you often find 345 adults in the same classroom providing instruction we perceive the world through more than our eyes here's we smell we touch and we taste here at chime we have a constructivist philosophy which means we use the approach to learning that holds that students must actively construct or make their own knowledge and that reality is determined by the experiences we also use the magic and project-based learning project-based learning allows for the discovery on a variety of levels do large units linked to the California common core standards students develop a deeper understanding key Concepts make connections between content areas and practice skills needed to apply New Concepts in addition students learn social and problem-solving skills as they work together as you can probably tell from the information previously provided we're not attest crazy school we don't believe that a snapshot in time when a student puts a pencil to piece of paper or click the button on an online assessment once per year is necessarily the best way to measure participate in the annual state testing administered in the spring of each year and we are very proud of our students and staff and happily report that we have outscored the district and state every year the cast has been administered we often get asked if we assess for gifted and talented Learners yes we do we partner with LAUSD to provide is Los Angeles Unified School District school psychologist when did mr. Test in most schools once the students identified as gifted they said congratulations you belong on the gate program is located somewhere else we keep our gifted students in the same code Christian's that they've been with since kindergarten and we enriched that students curriculum to meet their needs all students in the class benefit from the interaction and end up thinking provided by the gifted student we differentiate the instruction adjustments made based on an individual students need so we can provide access to the Core Curriculum the content the process the product the curriculum can be extended modified or accommodated based on the ability level of the student access is on learning project-based learning constructivist Technics direct instruction and a variety of documentation methods help us do this game strategies are used in every classroom and depth and complexity icons are recognized by all the stuff fundraising yes we do fundraising it is a Facts of Life but you probably already knew that all schools do some sort of fundraising what's different with us is that 100% of the fundraising goes directly into the daily activities of the students our fundraising activities support our art or music arlibrary rpe program your money invested every day on campus now for some school specifics school starts at 8:05 for Middle School grades 6 through 8 834 grades 1 through 5 940 K in Kinder at the end of the day we close that out in the exact opposite tikkanen Kinder and it two grades one through three and at 2:40 grades 4 and 5 and at 2:55 along with middle school 6th through 8th grade supervision is provided for school in our campus opens at 7:45 a.m. for students there is no fee for before-school care is a fee associated with their after-school program those of you looking ahead here's our Middle School bell schedule in a single self-contained classroom but visit classrooms by departments we use a block schedule meaning that Mondays and Wednesdays students will visit. 12 and 3 on Tuesdays and Thursdays they'll visit.
