Bio
With 20 years of teaching experience in the Visual
Arts, I have developed a child-centered philosophy based on individualized
instruction and differentiated expectations. Students are encouraged to
express themselves as individuals and create artwork that reflects these
choices. Each child develops an understanding of their strengths through the
creative process reinforced in art education. In addition, there is an
emphasis on motor skills to develop writing proficiency, visual skills that
increase literacy, and a deep cultural understanding through art history and
social studies. I also focus on creativity and problem solving during this
process with the hope of increasing student resiliency. Oh, and we have a
lot of fun! At home, I love gardening and taking care of all my animals with
my husband and daughter.
