Bio
Hello! My name is Erica Rood and I teach third grade. I
attended UCLA for my undergraduate degree majoring in Musical Theater in
their school of Theater, Film and Television. I completed my elementary
teaching credential at CSUN's Michael Eisner School of Education. I believe
success is possible for all students! Encouragement, patience and positive
energy are the keys to unlocking any child’s potential. I strive to create a
classroom experience in which children feel comfortable, safe and motivated
to achieve beyond their highest imaginings. Using innovative teaching
approaches, coaching artistic expression and other creative aspects daily
while meeting benchmarks and content standards, I strive to inspire children
to want to come to school. When a child wants to come to school, the day
becomes a remarkable experience. In addition, allowing a child’s unique
identity to enrich the collaborative classroom community strengthens our own
understanding of the truly diverse world we live in. It has been suggested
that a true teacher never considers learning a completed process, but
continues to learns and grow every day, perhaps every moment. I consider
myself one of these teachers, and have the opportunity to learn from my
students everyday. When I am not teaching, I enjoy cooking, painting, yoga,
and creative writing. Please stop by and say hello!
