Bio

My name is Shelbi Doherty and I am thrilled to be a part of the CHIME community, both as a teacher and as a parent! This is my first year as a full-time teacher at CHIME. I had been a very involved parent for the past four years and then decided to become a substitute teacher for the 2009-2010 school year. This was a positive transitional experience for me which included day to day subbing as well as a long term position in 2nd grade. Before starting a family of my own, I taught 4th grade at Westwood Charter School, in LAUSD, for five years. I have two boys, both of which attend CHIME, one is in 4th grade and the other is in Kindergarten. I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, getting together with friends, watching movies and reading. I also love a lazy Sunday! I earned my B.S. degree from USC and received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from CSUN. I am very excited to be back in the classroom and am looking forward to a bright future with CHIME.
