Bio

Hello! I am Michel Chenelle and I will be teaching 7th and 8th Language Arts and Publishing. After receiving a B.A. in Theater Arts from U.C.L.A. in 1981 I worked both domestically and internationally in the theater and the arts. In 2002, after spending a summer volunteering in Ghana, I decided to become a teacher and received my teaching credential from Cal State Los Angeles.

I started my career at CHIME as a para-educator where I also had the opportunity to complete my student teaching. I was involved with the Drama program from 2004 - 2006, as well as responsible for the publication of the school newspaper and yearbook.

I try to create a class environment where all students can feel successful accessing the curriculum. I am committed to constructing meaningful lessons that will not only help students grasp necessary concepts, but will help them understand how these concepts are used in everyday life. My goal is that all students learn to exercise their imaginations, enjoy reading and discover the power of writing.
