Daniel Blake joined the Board in 2010. He currently is the project economist for the Family Source Center Evaluation Study, a California State University, Northridge (CSUN) consulting group for the Community Development Department of the City of Los Angeles, and an emeritus professor of economics at California State University, Northridge. Prior to that, he was a professor of economics and the director of the San Fernando Valley Economic Research Center at CSUN.

Dr. Blake is an advisory board member of the Labor Market Information Division of the California Employment Development Department in Sacramento. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of The Valley Economic Alliance and serves as the Economic Development Initiative co-chair. He previously served on the board of Chatsworth Hills Academy, including a term as board president.

He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Montana and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Oregon.
