Mr. Alan Gerson joined the CHIME Institute Board of Directors in 2004. His long and distinguished career spans broadcast and cable television, Home Shopping, direct marketing, electronic commerce, live event marketing and the Internet. He is a recognized expert in direct marketing, electronic commerce and “Home Shopping” and has been an innovator in the conceptualization and implementation of Interactive marketing and promotional concepts in the broadcast, cable and Internet media. Gerson was a longtime senior executive at NBC, Inc. where he was responsible for standards and practices, Interactive programming and promotions and TV Network business development, as well as acting as counsel for NBC Network Sales, Advertising & Promotion and Political Broadcast departments. At NBC Gerson was instrumental in pioneering the first Network interactive promotional, programming and advertising campaigns.
Mr. Gerson has a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, and a B.A. from the State University of New York, College at Plattsburgh. He is member of the Broadcast Council of the Direct Marketing Association and has served on the membership committee of the Electronic Retailing Association. He lives in Encino California with his wife Rochelle Gerson, Executive Vice President, Business Affairs for Carsey-Werner. |
